We are so lucky enough to have arrived before the bagels were sold out usually around evening! Frankly, the bagel is probably the best bagel we have ever had in our lives. The taste of the sweet cream cheese as we take our first bite was beyond amazing ūüôā

Tucked away in the middle of TTDI, this cafe is also known for their huge and I mean huge! slices of gourmet pizza and their scrumptious matcha cream puffs. However, ever since they brought in this hot new rainbow bagel, this cafe has becoming one of the popular cafes in KL as the bagels have been selling out quickly.

Pisang Goreng Cheese Rainbow

Other than the world’s obsession with rainbow, we Malaysian have an obsession with cheese! Cheese is love as Malaysians like adding cheese to almost everything and anything! One of the best way to enjoy this magical dairy creation is by marrying these two elements (cheese + banana fritters) into one food called pisang goreng cheese rainbow.

Banana fritters is one of the most popular snack for tea break in Malaysia. This crispy, sweet and golden dessert is made of bananas that is battered and then deep fried. Rainbow Pasta

Start your feast with a spectacular sign we have not seen elsewhere : rainbow pasta at BGT Lakeview awaits you with variety of organic pastas that you can choose from the buffet served. The setting of the restaurant which is in a lakeside dining area will give your meal a touch of elegance and with the buffet that is being put up, you and your date will never go home without seeing a rainbow!

This restaurant has launched a total of 6 colours of pasta that are being prepared by 25 different ingredients. Rest assured that the colour of the pasta is made out of natural ingredients mainly like black sesame and red tomato. A should-order for pasta devotees are the black sesame pasta soaked in a beautifully carbonara sauce that would round out each mouthful in a satisfyingly creamy fashion.

Located in Kelana Jaya, the buffet is only available during lunch time. The pasta is served plate by plate hence if you wish to order for your next plate, you would have to finish off your first plate first before ordering for a second plate. If you are an adventurous person, this is definitely a must-try for you. The signature rainbow shots are vodka-based galactic-hued shots which cost one RM 120.

If you are at the bar, you can witness yourself the making of this rainbow shots, where the bartender will mix several riveting streams of liqueur, booze and syrups all at once into the bartender’s single cocktail shaker. After shaking for few seconds, he then magically pour out a stream of seven different coloured potions and it’s well worth it!

Nasi 7 Benua

If you feel like having a heavy meal but at the same time don’t want to miss on the rainbow part, you should definitely try out the Nasi 7 Benua. Also known as rice of seven continents, the rice comprises seven types of local traditional rice which are the classic nasi putih, off white nasi lemak, greyish nasi lemuni, yellow nasi minyak, lime green nasi kacang, orange nasi tomato and multi-coloured nasi hujan panas.

Each portion of the rice is serve about the size of a ping pong ball which is placed neatly on the plate in flower petals that is painstakingly scooped one by one with a special cup. Served along with side dishes such as chicken curry, chicken kurma and the famous malay cuisine of ayam masak kicap, the rich spices will be an explosion in your mouth.

No, it’s definitely not made from a cat’s tongue as the name implies. These biscuits are a hit during the festive seasons especially on Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. The arrangement of the 6 or 7 colours of the cookies will sure make your heart screams wanting more and more as you bite colour after colour.

Without a doubt,  you can also make the cookies yourself as the recipe is quite easy to understand and follow. Among the important ingredients needed are 7 colours of food colouring, sugar and margarine. It will take approximately 30-45 minutes to bake this amazing cookies.

Fred not! Although these cookies do look rare and unique, it actually is relatively easy to get as you can purchase them from sellers and agents across Malaysia. What can be a better way to start your day with some wholesome rainbow pancakes! These delectable pancakes including a lusciously large scoop of ice cream would definitely put a smile on your face. The served pancakes that we had are moist, thin and dense sprinkled with sweet berries on top and around the pancake itself. The presentation of the food no doubt will blow your mind away. Not only that, some edible flowers also graced the platter reflecting the soothing ambiance of the cafe.

Who wouldn’t love the idea of cutting into a cake to find a rainbow in it? We know we do! Rainbow cakes are fairly easy to find at any bakery store or you can even get it custom made by cake bakers all over Malaysia. This is one of the cakes that every rainbow lover should cross off their bucket list. But, if you don’t know where to start in order to satisfy your rainbow buds, you can start with Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie in KL. This cafe has amazing slices of rainbow cake baked everyday without fail!

However, If you’re a big fan of cupcakes and prefer those little cute cupcakes over slices of cakes, then you should definitely try out the superainbow cupcakes from Wondermilk. Just the mention of Wondermilk ¬†brings to mind whimsical baked creations, especially since they‚Äôve long become veterans of the Malaysian cupcake scene. We definitely fell in love with the superainbow which was a layered cupcake in red, yellow, and blue that also bleed into several vivid secondary colours, with rainbow sprinkles on the frosting. Known as Dadih Sedut or Cikedut, these guys managed to elevate the art of eating normal pudding by placing them in a glass jar and how do you eat it? Of course with a straw! The simple yet strange bottled rainbow makes it easier for us to bring it anywhere and rainbow lovers can definitely check them out at Saripdol @ Gobang Maju Patin Tempoyak.

Cikedut or Dadih is much like a yogurt except that it is actually femented buffalo milk and was made popular in Indonesia. However, lately this has becoming a trend as the on ‚Äďthe-go snack. The soft pudding with a mixture of butterscotch taste and a bit of paddlepop is relatively easy to find within the Klang Valley. Although this amazing rainbow pudding is based in Temerloh, Pahang, there are many agents across Malaysia who sell this famous Cikedut so it is definitely easier for you to grab one anytime and anywhere!
